In 1990, I received my Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology from Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, Delaware. I went on to become registered in Radiologic Technology, certified in Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Positron Emission Tomography.
My background fueled my love of technology. However, I was frustrated by the complicated user interfaces and the lack of efficiency in these devices. They made the job complicated when it didn't need to be. So, I decided to transition from the healthcare to development. I wanted to help the user, not hinder them.
So, I went back to college and obtained my Associate's degree in Information Technology from Lord Fairfax Community College (now known as Laurel Ridge Community College). Along the way, I obtained several certificates in Web Design and Development, Database Design and Administration, and Computer Networking. I attended Full Sail University and studied Web Design and Development.
I currently work with a small firm in Winchester, Virginia where we build websites primarily using WordPress. I handle the client support desk, manage projects, develop and design websites, and fix website and hosting issues. I have gained valuable skills in both front-end and back-end development with this employer. If you are interested in learning more about my skills email me for my resume or to arrange a call.
I enjoy reading, research, technology, learning new things and finding innovative and efficient ways to harness the power of technology. I am passionate about building effective, friendly and appealing websites that enhance the user experience.
I reside on a small farm in Strasburg, Virginia with my husband, Anthony. I enjoy reading, learning new things and helping my husband care for our horses, chickens, a spoiled Rottweiler and my beloved cats.
